Led the e-commerce migration of an established energy and fuel supplier from a legacy CMS to a self-hosted WordPress and WooCommerce ecosystem, modernising their digital operations and resolving critical technical debt.
Role: Senior Project Manager
Scope: Full-scale digital transformation and legacy migration for a multi-depot fuel supplier.
Objective: Decommission a restrictive, legacy content management system and migrate all digital storefront operations, product pricing matrices (supporting variable unit pricing depending on fuel order volume), and consumer checkout funnels to a modern, fully responsive WordPress and WooCommerce platform.
As the Project Manager and Client Engineer, I directed the end-to-end delivery lifecycle. At the project's inception, I provided The Digital Department—the agency responsible for the actual WordPress and WooCommerce development—with a comprehensive Request for Proposal (RFP). My ongoing role focused on managing these cross-functional technical teams, ensuring the project was delivered efficiently to restore online ordering functionality well in advance of the busy autumn/winter home heating oil season (as fuel ordering was down due to the API change).
